    Some policies may pay for rheumatoid arthritis or psoriatic arthritis but usually won't cover the more common osteoarthritis.

    With over 100 types of arthritis, osteo is the most common form. Arthritis can be debilitating, restrict your movement and ability to function but that does not mean it will qualify under a critical illness plan.

    Critical Illness Insurance pays a lump sum to someone who is diagnosed with a life threatening illness that has a major impact on their lives. Arthritis generally does not fall into this category, and I am not aware of that condition being list in a critical illness list of covered conditions.
