Will My Insurance Cover Damage To A Rental Car?
- 14231 POINTSview profileTom SheehanAgency Owner, The Thomas G Sheehan Agency, 27 Glen Road Sandy Hook, CT 06482It is possible that your auto policy will extend coverage onto a rental car while it temporarily replaces yours. Remember though that if you have an older car and are just carying liability, that will be the only coverage that transfers. You could therefore be financially exposed without also having Comprehensive and Collision (Physical Damage) coverage. Check with your insurance professional. Also, check the terms and conditions of your credit card. Many cards provide some limited coverage for a rental, usually up to $500.00, which in many cases is enough to cover your own auto policy deductible.Answered on June 6, 2013flag this answer
