Will Auto Insurance Cover Rodent Damage?
- 375 POINTSview profileTony Canas, CPCU, MBAFinancial Leadership Rotation Program, Nationwide Insurance, Columbus, OHRodent damage to your car would probably be covered by the Comprehensive (Other than Collision) coverage of your auto policy. However, as with all questions related to claims the only way to know for sure is to file a claim because policies and the way they are interpreted vary quite a bit.Answered on April 6, 2013flag this answer

McNeil Insurance Services, Fresno, CaliforniaDamage caused by rodents is not a standard exclusion in most automobile policies. The coverage would be found under comprehensive. The coverage is adjusted after payment of the deductible. The coverage is limited to the actual cash value of the loss. Since this is a unique situation you might want to discuss it with an agent prior to submitting a claim.Answered on April 28, 2015flag this answer
