Insurance companies look at statistics and loss ratio's to set their rates.  Unfortunately, boys have a higher loss ratio and incidence of accidents than girls.  Is it always fair, probably not.  Many boys are much better drivers than girls.  But until the statistics change, that is just the way it is.

Many different statistics are analyzed by iInsurance Companies when developing their rate for various classes of drivers. Over the years, it has been fairly typical that those statistics indicated that inexperienced young male drivers have tended to be involved and or responsible for more auto accidents than have their female counterparts. As a result, rates for young men have been generally higher than those for young women. You and your parents should speak with your Insurance Professional about any and all available discounts in order to help you manage the cost of your car insurance. Ask about discounts for good grades, driver education course completion and bundling along with anoy other options they may have to offer.
