Who Can I Add To My Auto Insurance?
- 14231 POINTSview profileTom SheehanAgency Owner, The Thomas G Sheehan Agency, 27 Glen Road Sandy Hook, CT 06482If you get married, then you can add your spouse and their car to your policy. If you and your spouse are parents and your kids become licensed drivers, then you can add them to your policy. Generally speaking if you have another relative who is residing with you, they can be added to your car policy as well. If you have a resident nanny for your younger children, and that person will have regular use of your car, then it is properto add that person to your policy as well.Answered on May 14, 2014flag this answer

In California the car is linked to a household. Any licensed driver in the household is considered as part of the policy, unless they have been excluded. You must provide your insurance agent with a list of all licensed drivers in your household. If you loan your car to someone who does not reside with you and is not a member of your household the car will continue to be covered. There isn’t any need or justification for adding someone who is not in your household to your policy.Answered on May 14, 2014flag this answer
