I had liability car insurance and signed a UM rejection letter. 9 months later I bought a new car and changed to full coverage. Is the UM rejection I originally signed for liability (and dated) valid to the new full coverage policy?

I was not asked about UM coverage when I modified my policy to full coverage with the new car in September 2013. When I bought the liability policy in January 2013, I signed a UM rejection coverage. How long is the UM rejection valid? Should I have been required to sign a new one when the policy was changed in September? Your help is appreciated.

Only one UM rejection letter at the start of the policy is needed. Your coverage will stay like this until you request to add the coverage to your policy.

"Full coverage" (I'm not a fan of that term) has nothing to do with UM coverage. Full coverage refers to having comprehensive and collision coverage on your vehicle.

The reason you sign a UM rejection letter is to acknowledge that you were offered UM coverage, but didn't want it. A lot of injured drivers later go on to file suit against their agent, claiming that they weren't offered coverage. This rejection letter simply covers the agent from that happening.
