How Much Car Insurance Should I Carry In Texas?
- 225 POINTSview profileJames GoldenMinimum limits are now 25/50/15. They use to be 15/30/15, however, Texas a few years ago began adopting ISO (national standards) and so have gone mostly to 25/50/15. I am sure there are some county mutuals and some Lloyd's syndicates that still retain the old limits or worse. Please take a little advice and just look at least purchasing 100/300/100 or 300,000 csl. Also, you can get very reasonable (around $120) for a 1 million dollar umbrella liability policy if you have the higher standard limits. This can provide your passengers some great coverage thru the UM/UMI plan of your auto policyAnswered on September 4, 2013flag this answer

We suggest 50/100/100 as your liability limit to avoid any possibility of lawsuit. the price difference is not very much and it always easier to come up $10-15 rather than get sued and have to come up with $10,000 to 30,000. We have had several customers who are being sued because we did not want to push the higher limits. Its not always about how much money the agent is going to get in commission. We want to avoid you any hassles.Answered on November 12, 2013flag this answer
