    In Most cases the payment is prompt unless there is a dispute over the value of the auto or if the other person caused the accident and they are not admitting fault then at times it can be much longer. Medical payments on a policy can be much fast as long as the billing has been processed. If it is your own policy and you were the only person involved then it should be fairly fast.  The main thing that slows claims is the disputing portion of a claim which means who is at fault and how much damages were done.
