    That is a very good question.  Different companies use rating tools and formulas so it honestly depends on the source.  Whether you obtain your quote on line or from a licensed Insurance Professional it is important to be completely honest when answering the questions asked of you. Being completely up front minimizes the chance that there will be a change between the quote and your final premium.  Taking the time to talk with an insurance professional during the quote process also gives you the chance to ask questions and make coverage adjustments that make sense to your needs. Evryone's situation is different so look for custom coverage and service.

    The quoting system that we use is so accurate that most of our applications receive only scant scrutiny.  In the process we check the vehicle identification number which describes precisely what vehicle is being insured.  We check the loss history of the named drivers in the household and the motor vehicle records of each driver.  Very little additional information is collected.
