Does US Auto Insurance Cover Driving In Europe?
- 7647 POINTSview profileMark Bartlett CLCSBranch Owner, TWFG Insurance Services, Fremont California and the Greater Bay Area Representing Dozens of Insurance CarriersUS auto insurance does not cover you for driving a vehicle in Europe. It's US insurance and will only cover you in the United States, Canada and US Territories.. US insurance has no jurisdiction in Europe and is unable to defend or bring suit in a court case. If you travel to Europe and rent a vehicle for example you will need to purchase temporary insurance if made available.Answered on June 1, 2013flag this answer

US Auto insurance typically covers you while driving throughout the 50 states and in US territories. You usually are also covered if driving in Canada, but there may be a requirement that you carry proof of insurance on a Canadian form document, so check with your Insurance Professional. You should also ask if there is coverage if driving in Mexico as many policies place limits there too.Answered on May 27, 2014flag this answer
