Does Auto Insurance Cover Engine Damage?
- 12689 POINTSview profileTed RatliffOwner, SFS Associates,Auto insurance is not a maintenance contract and does not cover any type of auto repair not caused by an accident. Auto insurance covers liability if you are sued, medical payments for persons in your car, protection from uninsured drivers, and if you have full coverage it will cover collision damages and under the comprehensive, glass, vandalism, and any loss other than collision caused by an accidental occurrence.Answered on May 26, 2013flag this answer

In other words, as an example if the damage is caused by a collision, then the engine as well as other parts would be covered under the collision portion of the policy and subject to that deductible.Answered on June 27, 2014flag this answer
