Can You Pay For Car Insurance Using A Credit Card?
- 0 POINTSview profileEric NarciscoCEO, Effective Coverage, All StatesGenerally you can pay for car insurance using a credit card. Some carriers require that you be on EFT if you want automatic payments taken out monthly, but you don't have to be on automatic payments. You can just call in a credit card to pay the bill. Most carriers will accept credit cards for the down payment, as well. There are a few exceptions, such as Texas Fair Plan, who only take checks and money orders, but those are few and far between.Answered on May 20, 2014flag this answer

Some enable you to set up automatic monthly charges which makes things very easy to manage in many cases. Your Insurance Professional may also be able to process card payments with you over the phone.Answered on May 20, 2014flag this answer

Your rate goes up effectively by your interest rate, and if you don't pay off your credit card monthly, then you just increase the cost of your insurance over time. Use your credit card only as a last resort when paying bills. If you would like some budgeting help, please contact me privately, and I'll be happy to help.
