Driving without car insurance in not a smart idea. Colorado requires drivers to carry insurance limits of $25,000 per per person, $50,000 per accident for bodily injury, and $15,000 per occurrence of property damage liability. If you get caught driving without insurance, the police can arrest you and impound your car. The court can impose additional fines and requirements, or restrict your ability to drive.

Contact a local agent to discuss your auto insurance needs. If you cannot afford full coverage, let them know that. It is better to have the state minimum requirements and be able to pay for the coverage, then no coverage at all.
