In some cases this may be possible. Whether or not this is possible is up to the policies of your carrier and your agent. If you are looking to add comprehensive or collision coverages with the new vehicle then the agent  will more than likely want to verify the vehicle's condition. Remember every policy is different. Please read your policy completely to understand the coverage provided and any exclusions that there may be or contact your local agent to have them go over the policy with you.

In Florida, you should be able to add a car to your policy over the telephone. If you are purchasing a vehicle you must have insurance on that vehicle before you can drive it. Therefore, most dealerships will request that you call your insurance agent to add the newly purchased vehicle to your policy. That way, your insurance agent can verify the fact that you are purchasing the vehicle and verify the condition, make, model, year, VIN and purchase price. If they do not let you add a vehicle over the telephone, you may want to look at a different company.
