If you have tags on a car, regardless if the car is drivable or not, you have to maintain insurance. In CT as in most states, car insurance is a requirement for registration and use of any car on public roads and highways. Some farms maintain vehicles that are used strictly on their land and never leave the property. In cases such as this the state regulations generally do not apply. General rule of thumb: if it needs to be registered to use, then it needs to be insured.Answered on July 25, 2013flag this answer
