    yes. you can buy what is called a named operator (aka non-owners)  auto insurance policy. It covers you in any non-owned vehicle you drive. however, a named operator policy does not cover the vehicle that you are driving (meaning no comprehensive or collision coverage is offered). A named operator policy only offers liability coverage, medical coverage and uninsured motorist coverage.

    as an alternative, some states also have what is called a broad form named driver policy. It is very similar to a named operators policy, but with some minor differences.
