    The laws require that a motor vehicle that is being operated on public roads carry liability insurance. Penalties for not carrying liability insurance can range into the thousands of dollars. Also you can have your vehicle impounded and possibly your license suspended. Not to consider if you cause an accident of which the ramification possibilities are endless.
