Can Car Insurance Be In Your Parent’s Name?
- 14231 POINTSview profileTom SheehanAgency Owner, The Thomas G Sheehan Agency, 27 Glen Road Sandy Hook, CT 06482Not sure where you live, but here in CT, Insurance Policies need to be issued in the name (s) of the registered owners of a vehicle. Therefore, if one or both of your parents own the car, the policy would be issued in their name (s) and you would be listed on the policy as a rated driver of that car. If however, you are the registered owner of the car, then the policy needs to be issued in your name.Answered on February 10, 2014flag this answer
