Can A Car Be Parked On The Road With No Insurance?

    In California you cannot register an automobile without insurance.  If your insurance expires or is cancelled the company notifies the Department of Motor Vehicles.  If law enforcement checks with the DMV they will know that the vehicle is violating the law and they have certain actions that they can take including citation and even impounding the vehicle.
