Typically there goal is to get the claim settled quickly so that the people affected can get there lives back in order. A claim will typically take anywhere from hours on up depending on the circumstances behind the incident that caused the claim. Insurance carriers do not want claims hanging out there if they can avoid it. Most claims are handled within a couple of days.
