Cobra continuation allows an ex employee and family members to have anywhere from 18-36 months continued coverage depending on certain qualifying conditions. The ex employee will pay 100% of the premium cost PLUS up to 2% in a handling fee to either the old companys HR department or to the Cobra coverage provider.
The employer group health plan includes active employees and those on COBRA.
If your employer group health insurance plan changes, you will be afforded the same options.
Each covered participant family member has COBRA rights independent of the others.
