What Happens To Homeowners Insurance When Owner Dies?

    The death of the owner will not make any changes to a homeowner’s policy.  Normally there are two people named as insureds but the coverage is on the property, not on the life of the owner/insured.  Notify the insurance company if the owner dies and have the new owner named on the policy.  This should be a minor issue.
