Insurance companies do not write “Class D” insurance. Depending upon the state and the underwriting of the individual companies, they may offer insurance on Class D cars. A class D car is one that has been declared a total loss, repaired and returned to service. The title for the car states this. Coverage is usually available for public liability and property damage.
