I believe that you can buy a home without title insurance.  Title insurance is a service and a guarantee.  The insurance provides that the title is “clear.”  The title doesn’t have any liens or obligations that haven’t been disclosed.  An attorney can draw up the documents of sale and I believe that the attorney can do that without title insurance.
