There are three basic coverages in a homeowner’s policy.  There is coverage for the principle property (the home and the contents of the home.)  There is coverage for incidental property (things outside the home but on the property, sheds, gazebos, etc.) and liability coverage.  The contents are covered as a part of the principle property coverage and the limit is normally a percentage of the insured value of the house.
