Does Renters Insurance Cover A Hurricane?
- 37376 POINTSview profileDavid G. Pipes, CLU®, RICP®Business Development Officer, T.D. McNeil Insurance Services, Fresno, CaliforniaHurricane damage is covered in most renter's policies with exceptions and limitations. Damage to the landscape may have incidental coverage. Certain items of personal property (money, jewelry, silverware, guns, for example) are subject to limits in the policy. If the damage is sustained due to flood, waves or an overflow of water that enters through an opening in the house or even through the sewer, damages may not be covered. If the direct cause of loss is power interruption, damages may not be covered.Answered on April 30, 2014flag this answer
