    Yes, Medicare Part A does cover medically necessary cataract surgery, if you must be admitted to the hospital for the surgery to be performed. If on an outpatient basis, cataract surgery is covered by Medicare Part B. Medicare Part B will cover one pair of eyeglasses following the cataract surgery.
