Yes, Life Insurance will pay for funerals if you want it to pay for funerals. The person taking out the policy can leave the proceeds of the policy to a funeral home, or to a trust that will pay the funeral home, or to a beneficiary who will pay for the funeral bill with proceeds from the life insurance policy. Life insurance will pay for whatever the Insured person and/or beneficiary desires.

There are certain life insurance policies that are designed as "final expense" or "funeral expense" policies, but only those that are sold by mortuaries or funeral homes are dedicated to those expenses. THe death benefit of a life insurance policy is paid to the beneficiary or beneficiaries with "no strings attached". In other words the proceeds of a life insurance policy when paid to the beneficiary is theirs to do with what they wish.
