I Barely Have Diabetes, Can I Get Life Insurance?
- 11783 POINTSContact Meview profileLarry GilmorePROAgent Owner, Gilmore Insurance Services, Marysville, Washington StateYes, it may be possible to get life insurance with diabetes. In the old days diabetes was a decline, not even considered. Now most companies will look at an individual's situation with diabetes to determine an offer. One thing though, once you start taking medications to treat your diabetes, you are a diabetic. Type II for 15 years myself.Answered on June 19, 2013+01 0+1 this answerflag this answerview more answers by Larry Gilmore

If you were recently diagnosed with diabetes, you will want to have at least one follow up A1C test done before applying, to show that your blood glucose is responding to treatment and/or diet and exercise. If you have any side effects such as significant neuropathy, if you have heart disease along with diabetes, or if your weight is outside the build charts for medically underwritten life insurance, there are simplified issue policies to cover almost every adult with diabetes who is looking for life insurance.Answered on June 19, 2013flag this answer
