Will Homeowners Insurance Cover A New Air Conditioner?
- 7647 POINTSview profileMark Bartlett CLCSBranch Owner, TWFG Insurance Services, Fremont California and the Greater Bay Area Representing Dozens of Insurance CarriersBased on the question I have to make assumptions that your old air conditioner just wore out and broke down. If this is the case then no, your homeowners insurance will not cover to get you a new air conditioner. Homeowners insurance polices are not warranties or maintenance policies. This includes mechanical breakdown. Damage must be sudden and accidental. Fire, or vandalism would fall into the sudden and accidental category.Answered on June 18, 2013flag this answer
