Assuming you mean current addiction or recent addiction that answer is no. The life application specifically asks about prescription drugs and/or illegal drugs. Any misrepresentation can void the contract. In addition: the urine analysis will also test for drugs, a highly effective detection system that will screen for a variety of pharmaceuticals.

Current drug addicts can get life insurance if the policy is a guaranteed issue policy. There is a minimum age for this type of coverage that is usually age 40+ and the policy will be graded during the first few years for all but accidental death.

Drug addicts who are currently using drugs can also get accidental death coverage. This type of insurance will usually only pay the death benefit if death is caused by accidental death not related to drug use, and it will not pay for death due to natural causes of any kind.

Drug addicts who have gone through treatment and have had a number of years pass since they used drugs can get simplified issue life insurance that may or may not be graded. If the drug treatment was long ago with no relapses, recovered drug addicts can even qualify for medically underwritten coverage.
