		<description><![CDATA[Typically mold is not covered since mold is produced by continual water penetration that is either undetected or ignored.  When water damage is covered on a policy, it is usually only covered if the original cause of loss is covered.  You state you were told the original cause of loss was wind damage.  If the water damage occurred at the same time, and was a factor of the wind damage (both happened during the same storm), then depending on the type of policy you have (not the insurance carrier, but the actual policy), you may have coverage.
There are two types of policies - Open Peril and Named Peril.  This is the first item you need to know about the policy you hold.  On an Open Peril policy, all perils (specific cause of loss) are covered unless they are specifically excluded.  On a Named Peril policy, all perils are excluded unless they are specifically listed as covered.  On most policies, water damage is listed as excluded, unless specific conditions are met.  For example, the policies my company writes in my area covers for &quot;accidental direct, distinct and demonstrable physical water damage of covered property from direct contact with water, but only if the water results from:&quot; and then goes on to list what conditions need to be present.
In my opinion, unless the water damage was specifically caused by wind damage, and both losses were reported at the same time, you might not have coverage for these items.  And most likely not the mold damage regardless of the cause.]]></description>
