		<description><![CDATA[Renter’s insurance is not required by any state statute that I know of.  A lease, however, is a contract negotiated between a tenant and a landlord.  The landlord can make a tenants policy a requirement for leasing property to you.  He might do that to protect his interests in the event of a lawsuit arising from your occupancy of his property and he might also want to make it clear that he is not responsible for your property, even if the unit is damaged by a covered peril and your property is damaged as well. ]]></description>
