Medigap monthly premiums are generally higher than Medicare Advantage plans which can have premiums as low as $0.

When you have a Medigap plan you are still in original Medicare and they are your primary payer.

With a Medicare Advantage plan your insurance carrier is the one who adjudicates and pays your claims. You are no longer in original Medicare.

Medigap plans have lower out of pocket, especially on a large claim.

Medicare Advantage plans are great until you get sick and have to use them.
