If the purpose of the rhinoplasty is cosmetic, Medicare will not pay for this surgery.

Medicare may pay for rhinoplasty for one or more of the following conditions: to improve breathing, to repair defects in the nose caused by trauma, to treat congenital anatomical abnormalities when function of the nose is affected, to repair nasal tissue after removal of a tumor when function is affected, to treat sleep apnea or other conditions that interfere with breathing when other treatments do not work, or to reconstruct the nose in case of severe deformity.
