		<description><![CDATA[If a hospital accepts federal funding they are obligated to treat Medicare patients. They are also required to bill Medicare for any services rendered to Medicare patients.

If the hospital accepts Medicare assignment, they are not allowed to balance bill Medicare approved charges. They are allowed to bill the patient for unpaid deductible and coinsurance as well as any Medicare denied service charges.]]></description>
