That is a great question! Accidental Death insurance is very inexpensive, because like term life policies, they very rarely have to pay out. The best reason to have an accident policy is if you work in a situation where accidents and injuries are common. As an inexpensive addition to your life insurance, if you were to be killed in an accident, your payout would be much larger than what just life insurance would pay. That said, I wouldn't recommend it in any way as a replacement for a life policy, and I'd ask you to look very carefully at what the company defines as an "accident". Thanks for asking!

Accidental death is available for about $5 a month for $10,000 of coverage at any age when a part of an auto policy. That said it is important to understand that if you cannot get life insurance this is an alternative. If it is all that you can afford, it is an alternative. I agree that it doesn’t result in many claims but it does result in some. There are accidental death policies available, call your agent.

Accidental death insurance costs less than life insurance because death by accident occurs far less frequently than death due to natural causes. Even accidents that are caused by health conditions are not covered by accidental death insurance. Also, you cannot get accidental death insurance at older ages. To find the price of accidental death insurance, you can contact an agency that sells life insurance. Most offer a stand alone accidental death policy, or can add an AD&D rider to your life insurance policy.
