Only if you were liable for an accidental death would their possibly be coverage. While 300,000 is the minimum liability protection coverage I recommend for a homeowner, should your personal assets exceed this amount I highly recommend a personal umbrella policy be obtained. Umbrella polices can give you 1-10 million dollars in additional liability protection and will extend not only above and beyond your homeowners coverage but auto and rental properties as well. Consult your local agent about your liability protection needs.

Home Insurance is not life insurance. If someone on your property or in your house is killed due to an injury and you are sued you would be covered under the liability portion of your policy up to the limits of the liability. I recommend at least $300,000 liability limits for the average homeowner. If you are in an upper income and have a lot of assets than at least a million or more based on your circumstances. Consult with a good local agent to determine the coverage best for you.
