You can get a good idea of the average for your area of the country by checking out the www.healthcare.gov website. Under the ObamaCare (healthcare reform) program you might qualify for free or reduced costs on your plan, even on your deductibles. You may not ultimately decide to buy a plan through the exchange, but it's great for seeing what the average cost should be, and to see if you qualify for a premium subsidy (which many people do)!

There is no easy answer to this question, since there are so many variables. Some of the factors affecting price are your age, general health, tobacco usage, state of residence, whether your plan is an individual policy or part of a group plan - and the degree of cost contribution by your employer. On top of that, the provisions of the plan are so varied that the best way to determine the cost of coverage would be to ask for a quote with your specifics in mind.
