If you have a "hospitalization" policy which may also be referred to as Health Insurance coverage all the policies typically has a section in which they state how much they pay for a semi-private room, ICU, and NICU. This type of policy alos provides coverage for all other services that would covered while an inpatient at the hospital. These coverages are typically stated like "so much per day" or "at a % of total charges.
There are "indemnity policies" that pay an charge for the room which is typically chosen by the applicant at the time of applying for the coverage.
There is another policy referred to as a "critical care policy" which is also an indemnity type policy that states they pay some flat amount for a given number of days if you are an inpatient in the hospital.
