Historically pregnant women could not obtain health insurance when individual health insurance was medically underwritten. Although Obamacare, as it is commonly known as, has many issues and problems, individuals can now obtain guarantee issue health insurance without any issues about pregnancy or pre-existing conditions.

During open enrollment which begins again in November 2014 for January 2015 effective dates everyone that wants to apply for health insurance will be approved.

If you have a qualifying life event under the IRS code you will be able to purchase health insurance within 60 days of the qualifying event.
