Long Term Disability Insurance covers complications of pregnancy and childbirth that require you to be off work for longer than the elimination period on your policy. If you have an elimination period of three months and are put on bed rest for the last month of your pregnancy, then go back to work two months later, your policy would not be of value in that situation.
