A critical illness policy that covers cancer should consider breast cancer for claim benefit. The only type of cancers excluded under critical illness policies are the basic skin cancers like basal cell cancer. There are critical illness insurance policies that are scheduled out benefits such as a set amount for each procedure and there are policies that just pay lump sum upon diagnosis. If you cannot locate your policy to read the specifics of your coverage, contact your agent or insurance company to be sure your claims are being processed correctly and you are receiving your benefits in a timely manner. God Bless.

Critical Illness Insurance will usually cover breast cancer, but it may not cover masses in the breast that are in situ (DCIS). Some critical illness policies pay for lower stage cancers with a reduced benefit. Review your particular policy regarding their guidelines for breast cancer before purchasing your critical illness insurance policy.
