Non-qualified deferred fixed interest rate annuities are paying an average of 2.75% for five years guaranteed and 3.00% for ten years. The spread between the two annuity rates is 25 basis points for twice the spread in time. Most advisers would not recommend locking down the ten years rate for an extra 25 basis points.
