Vanguard offers a variety of securities investments. They are famous for their index mutual funds. They have some of the first no load mutual funds as well as some of the largest funds (highest net assets invested in the fund). They do not sell annuities however, because annuities are a life insurance product. In order to purchase an annuity, you must find a licensed insurance agent who is appointed by an insurance company to offer their annuity product to you. Annuities can be complicated investment tools, but they have their place in retirement portfolios... Specifically when someone has a need for consistent income for life, they don't want to be able to outlive that income, and they expect to live a very long time.
