Ultimately you will have to change the license if you are going to reside in a different state then you are licensed in but this does not stop you from obtaining insurance. Call a local independent agent for assistance.Answered on June 6, 2013flag this answer

Many states and insurance companies will allow you to obtain car insurance with an out of state license. It will more than likely be required by your new state's DMV in order to register your cars. However, there will more than likly be a time limit during which time you should obtain a new license in the state you are nor residing.Answered on August 5, 2014flag this answer
