   Can a spouse cancel health insurance prior to a divorce?  Well they can try. A smart HR person takes all requests in writing and in a case where a spouse is being dropped, a second signature is often required as the employer seeks to be held harmless when something like this occurs. So it is possible, but it can also be reversed by the court if the court feels it is necessary.
