Actually, having health insurance does make you healthier. Here'show:

The vast majority of individual and family policies cover preventive services at 100%. No waiting period, deductible, coinsurance or copay.

Routine annual physicals, OBGYN exams, baby well visits are all included.

Since there is no out of pocket cost to you, more than likely, you will take advantage of these free features on your private health insurance plan. And yes...that will make you healthier.

Now excuse me, I have a physical scheduled and better leave. Yes, experienced brokers like myself utilize these benefits. Now if I could just retain that quickness I had on the tennis court 30 years ago...That would also help!

Does health insurance make you healthier?  You could support the idea that it does. Most plans now have provisions that check ups and shots are covered at 100% or with a nominal copay.  Some employers have plans that offer health club memberships, discounts on bicycle helmets and other activity oriented things. Others offer cash incentives for improved health through the health plan.  So through coverage and incentives health insurance can make you healthier.
