Medicare supplements are not under the same rules as Medicare Advantage. You may change Supplements at any time providing you can meet the companies underwriting. Your prescription plan can only be changed during the annual election period starting in October. As long as your health is good you should have no problems changing your Medicare Supplement plan.
Your Medicare supplement plan can be switched at any time subject to rules for your particular state. Some states such as CA have the birthday rule that allow you to change plans every year on your birthday without medical underwriting.
Other states such as MO have a similar rule for you policy anniversary.
So there is no single answer that applies equally to everyone.
You can change Medicare Supplement Plans any time that you choose. Usually the effective date on a plan change is the 1st of a month so I guess 12-times a year is the maximum.
But you should reshop your plan EVERY time you have a rate increase. If you purchased your plan through an independent insurance broker, all it takes is one phone call. You can shop and change plans and companies but keep the same agent.
