Does Renters Insurance Cover Dog Bites?
- 130 POINTSview profileWendi KratzerAgency Principal, Wendi D Kratzer Agency Inc,Yes it does. You have liability coverage on your Renter's policy. It usually comes with $100,000 of coverge which would cover a dogbite. This is why the agent will ask you if you own a dog and what kind. Many companies will not insure you if you own certain breeds such as Pitbulls or Rottweilers.Answered on May 9, 2013flag this answer

The most important is that the type of dog was not an excluded breed by the insurance company and the dog does not have a bit history. Otherwise you should be covered. I recommend you further discuss your specific policy coverage's with your agent.Answered on November 14, 2013flag this answer
